Composition:

  • Minzin Syrup: Each 5 ml syrup contains:
    1. Thiamine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B-1) BP – 5 mg
    2. Riboflavin (as Riboflavin-5-Phosphate Sodium BP) – 2 mg
    3. Pyridoxine Hydrochloride BP – 2 mg
    4. Nicotinamide BP – 20 mg
    5. Zinc (as Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate USP) – 10 mg

Description:

  • Minzin Syrup is a special preparation of Zinc and B-Vitamins.

Indication & Use:

  • Minzin Syrup is indicated for the treatment and prevention of B-vitamins & Zinc deficiencies.
  • B Vitamins are essential for:
    1. Releasing energy from food.
    2. Ensuring healthy brain and nerve function.
    3. Formation of healthy red blood cells in children & adults.
    4. Supporting healthy growth and development in children.
  • B vitamin deficiencies in adults may cause:
    1. Profound fatigue and neurologic manifestations (weakness, poor balance, confusion, irritability, memory loss, nervousness, tingling of limbs, loss of coordination).
    2. Depression, sleep disturbances, nausea, poor appetite, frequent infections, and skin lesions.
  • Zinc is essential for:
    1. A healthy immune system in children.
    2. Normal growth & sexual development in children.
    3. Growth and maintenance of muscles.
  • Zinc deficiency in adults may cause:
    1. Loss of appetite, poor sense of smell and taste, depression, white marks on fingernails, pale skin, frequent infections, low fertility, stretch marks, prostate problems, mental issues, poor wound healing, diarrhea, mental lethargy, rough skin, weight loss, acne, and greasy skin.

Dosage & Administration:

  • Adults: 10 ml (2 teaspoonfuls) 2 to 3 times daily or as advised by the physician.
  • Children: 10 ml (2 teaspoonfuls) 1 to 3 times daily or as advised by the physician.
  • Infants: 5 ml (1 teaspoonful) 1 to 2 times daily or as advised by the physician.

Side-effects:

  • Minzin Syrup is generally well tolerated.

Contraindication:

  • Contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.

Precaution:

  • Store below 25°C.
  • Protect from light.

Use in Pregnancy & Lactation:

  • Recommended.

Use in Children:

  • Recommended.

Drug Interaction:

  • Generally, no interactions have been observed.

Overdosage:

  • In case of overdosage, epigastric pain, diarrhea, and vomiting can occur.
  • Emergency medical attention should be sought immediately.
  • Treatment:
    1. An emetic should be given initially.
    2. Gastric lavage and general supportive measures should be employed.
